Complexion Blending?!?!?!?
The new procedure everyone is talking about… But where do you find the real deal, the best complexion blending in town? Washington DC Dermatology, just ask for Ivory Dance. This laser specialist has perfected what so many other places call “complexion blending”. And what is complexion blending?…
Complexion Blending is your one stop shop procedure. This treatment corrects dark spots, mild acne scars, fine lines, enlarged pores and improves overall texture of the skin, while stimulating collagen lost over time.
This treatment is done in series of four to six treatments, two to four weeks apart. Most patients use this treatment as part of their monthly maintenance. We treat our hair nails, why not our skin.
If you any additional questions regarding this procedure just got to www.washingtondcdermatology.com/complexionblending, or just email me at Cheila@everythingcosmeticnow.com.

Call it sun damage, freckles, age spots…. The question is how do you get rid of it?
Ladies and Gentlemen fall is here and after a great summer of sun tanning, biking, hiking, golfing and pool time, sun damage will soon show itself on your face and body… Well here is the solution! Lets talk Hydroquinone or in other words bleaching cream.
Obagi NuDerm System has been for the past few years rejuvenating and repairing skin from a wide range of factors that make your skin look aged and dull, things like Melasma, Hyperpigmentation, sun damage, blotchiness, etc…
This system is a complete skin care regimen formulated together to make skin look and feel younger and healthier. This system combined with a Retin-A prescription cream as shown significant visible improvement in only 12 weeks when applied as director by your physicians or skin care specialist.
The one thing I hear the most when recommending this system from patient: “ I have used Obagi and it does not work…” well newsflash it doesn’t work when you get it from an unknown source with absolutely no direction or follow up. This system is still a prescription medication and just like any medication it needs to be followed by a medical professional. Also this is a topical product so don’t expect a “facelift” from it, always use sunscreen and you must stick to it in order to see a result. The most important thing with this system is to be compliant with the instructions and not quit at the first sign of redness or peeling, this only means the system is working for you.
NEOCUTIS BLANCH is another product that although fairly new on market it already made headlines… Like product of the year by Allure magazine. Blanch is a bleaching cream that not only repairs the skin but also prevents new hyperpigmentation to develop. This product contains hydroquinone and Melaplex, which you can only find in Neocutis products. Melaplex is agents that suppress the melanin that is activated by UV rays.
So weather you are committed to a more in depth system or a low matiness person that only has time for one, two products max on their skin regimen, there is always something for you… Please visit our SKIN CARE PRODUCT page and read more about all our products. Remember we are only one email away to answer your questions and always skin care specialist and the best physicians standing by.

Missed conception about Sunscreen
Summer is here… for some of you tanning queens and those who think using UVA/UVB protection does not apply to them, sunscreen is the last thing on your mind. Well you are in for a rude awakening.
No matter your skin color, you ALWAYS need to be protected with full spectrum SPF.
Missed conception #1: Brown spots
Lately I have seen a ton of people complaining about how their sun damage does not go away, and the first thing they say is “but I’m using hydroquinone”. This is the deal people, there is no bleaching cream in the world that is going to get rid of your sun spots and blemishes if you are not protecting your skin from the sun. Now this does not mean hiding out, staying in the house or not going to the beach or pool. This only means that you should use a good sunscreen.
Missed conception #2: SPF100 vs SPF30
The majority of the population is very caught up on the SPF number and some of us (women especially) think they are covered because of the SPF 15 that their foundation provides. The truth of the matter is the number of the SPF is not as important as the ingredients and percentages of the ingredients in the product. So while sunscreens with SPF 100 claim full protection, a small SPF30 with the right ingredients gives much more protection against damaging rays.
Missed conception #3: “Sunscreens break me out”.
There are three types of sunscreen: chemical sunblock, physical sunblock and sunblock that has both(which are the most popular). If you break out easily, you may want to consider a physical block. If you can’t find a physical block, use a powder sunscreen. IS Clinical has the best powder sunscreen and it gives you a little sheer coverage just like make up.
